The Studio

Our recording studio was designed and built by owner Sandy Lamont to be quiet, warm and lively — big enough for the whole band, yet warm enough for the most intimate vocalist. Sandy’s 45+ years of engineering, acoustic design and music production experience give him a unique set of creative credentials, combined with a positive passion to create great music in every session.

The laid-back and relaxed design and décor of the studio help you feel right at home while you put together your musical “masterpiece”.

The studio’s design caters to a large variety of music genres, including:

STUDIO SESSION AUDIO SAMPLES of all the above music styles are available for listening on our Music Samples and Recent Studio Sessions page.

If you’re a musician or producer working in a home studio, we are available for those critical details, such as real drum overdubs, piano overdubs, vocal overdubs, real plate reverb and other pro recording studio technology and equipment, including analog 16/24 track tape equipment.

We also keep a number of instruments, vintage and contemporary, available for your session at no additional cost.

The Control Room / Mixing Suite /Console

Our control room and mixing suite features a 76-core Mac Pro Tower M2 Ultra running 2023 ProTools HDX with 32 I/O, AND a Custom Built 24 channel console with pristine VCAs, 8 summing amps, and LOTS of precision outboard gear.

The mixing suite is sonically neutral and features an exceptional custom-built 24 channel console and a 5 monitor studio speaker array that includes 2 sub-woofers.

Affordable Recording Studio Rates

CURRENT RATES:
$50 per hour, up to 8 hours.
$40 per hour, for 8 hours or more.
Multiple Days: Please request a quote.
Producer Discount for Larger Projects: If you are a producer and do not need an engineer, Lamont Audio offers additional discounts for larger projects.

A Brief Personal History

"I'm a musician, producer, and engineer working in the Valley since 1970.  I came to the Valley in 1970 and worked in a band that played a number of top resorts and nightclubs, also doing many sessions at Audio Recorders where I first learned the process or recording and mixing. In 1974, I opened Desert Sound Recording in Phoenix, recording hundreds of sessions with top AZ musicians and groups, until the late 1980s. 

In 1990, I set out to build a facility that provided a fully creative environment.  Lamont Audio is the result.  From the acoustically treated studio and control room, with a complete selection of digital and customized analog recording gear, to the collection of vintage instruments, I'm sure you'll agree that this a great place to record.  Give me a call to discuss doing your next project at Lamont Audio."
